Elastic monolithic PU conveyor belts from BEHAbelt offer new possibilities for joining belts at the ends, thanks to their solid PU construction. As the belt is constructed without a reinforcement, finger welding is no longer necessary, since the monolithic belt forms a homogeneous structure throughout – including at the weld seam.
The HS welding device from BEHAbelt is a simple, handy, reliable and cost-effective tool for butt-welding monolithic belts. The belts can be joined using either a 90° or 70° butt splice, as required. Depending on the requirements, two versions are available with the joining table and heating blade for maximum belt widths of up to 400 mm and up to 800 mm.

In which cases is 90° or 70° butt welding recommended?
While using small pulley diameters it is recommended to use a conveyor belt with a bias angle splice of about 70° (20°) to reduce the stress on the belt splice while bending the splice zone around the pulley. An angle splice is therefore used specifically in check weighers to ensure virtually smooth operation. For all other applications we recommend a 90° butt weld.
